When I left the performing arts world at 24, it seemed like other than shoot a scene for a film I had no idea what I could do. Only when I saw a small bubble tea cart on the side of the road did the idea to create a business come into my head. At the beginning I didn’t know how to do anything, truly a difficult time. I worked from early in the morning until late at night. But I believed that as long as I was persistent, then I would succeed!

He was once a well-known Taiwanese play director, a position often receiving people’s admiration, but because the performing arts industry was in decline, he started from absolute zero on a new path. He took out a business loan for 30,000 Yuan and set up a StreetSide shop. In the era of playing with baby dolls and bubble tea, relying on a deep desire to seek out food and beverages of outstanding quality, he created and shared a new world of food and beverages with others.

All the way to even today, he believes that as long as he creates an outstanding product, success will not be far behind. In addition, he diligently kept up the quality standard of every product he produced, always striving to become today’s food and beverage kingdom.

In the era where playing with baby dolls and drinking bubble tea reigned, he created and shared a new world of food and beverages with others, relying on a deep desire to seek out food and beverages of outstanding quality.

All the way to even today, he believes that as long as he creates an outstanding product, success will not be far behind. In addition, he diligently kept up the quality standard of every product he produced, always striving to become today’s food and beverage king.

Plentiful foreign experience and a foothold in the Nanyang food and beverage industry

After entering into the Malaysian market in 1999, we deeply felt the influence of Nanyang local culture and customs. Because of this we formally entered the Malaysian food and beverage industry. After 10 years of local research, in 2014 we actively started to research and develop new dishes, investigated the market, and in 2015 we planned out tactics for developing our brand entirely. In January of 2016, Mamak, finally came onto the scene in the Eastern district of Taipei. In July of 2017, we established in Taizhong. Up until today, the two locations in Taipei and Taizhong have an endless line of people waiting at the door, constantly receiving praise from their customers, thus becoming the brand most representative of signature Malaysian food in Taiwan.

November of 2016, using the Malaysian spirit of Mamak as its core, ‘Kampung Famous Hainanese Chicken Rice’ was born. In the first season of 2018 ‘88 Pasar Nanyang Bread Shop’ and other Malaysian themed restaurants will be established.

Taiwanese Style x European Style. Handmade Bread by Our Crafters to Put the Mind at Ease

With 3 kids at the time, chairman of the board Zheng Kailong in 2016 coincidentally came home one night right as his wife was hand making bread. As he was surrounded by the natural, fresh smell of unprocessed ingredients and the sight of heart-warming food, he suddenly had the idea to create a natural baked bread brand! The brand would carefully use the strong points of traditional European style bread. It would not add an excessive amount of ingredients and it would ferment by natural means. In addition, the bread would also include local Taiwanese flavors. Those first impressions of a novel concept by Zheng Kailong truly became a new style of European bread, and under the prerequisite of making food safety and health a priority, the bread will be the next best food trend!
